The precast concrete straining post is a customer led product. We were constantly hearing farmers and landowners commenting that the wooden strainers they were using were not lasting and they were having to replace them within a very short period of time, as early as 4 years has been quoted. This resulted in a slack fence, which even though the straining posts were replaced, would never be as tight as when newly erected.
We therefore designed a concrete strainer post with a 50 year design life to alleviate this problem and called it the Ox Strain Strainer Post. When researching, we discovered that fencers seem to have their own preferences in terms of the angle and position of the struts used to support a straining post, therefore to accommodate this, the Ox Strain has notches for struts located at two different heights on four sides. The concrete struts are 2135mm (7’) long as standard, but can be cut down if preferred.
