OX STRAIN STRAINER POSTS
The precast concrete ox strain strainer post is another customer led product. We were constantly hearing customers say that the wooden strainer posts of today are not lasting, in some cases having to be replaced after only a few years from installation. This results in the fence becoming slack and in most cases difficult to retention as new. The key feature of the Ox Strain post is its durability – likely to last for at least 50 years, resulting in a taut fence for much longer and maintenance free, therefore a very cost effective alternative to wooden strainers.
Concrete struts are also available. They are 2135mm (7′) long x 75mm (3″) x 75mm (3″).
This video provides a guide of installation using mechanic equipment to drive the Ox Strain Posts into the ground. This video includes a top hat placed on top of the Ox Strain Post to protect the post when driving it in.

- Manufactured using reinforced concrete to give durability and strength.
- 50 year design life.
- Socket cast into the top of the post to ease handling and installation.
- Can be driven in by most standard post drivers when used in combination with a Top Hat which can be supplied.
- Ability to hang gates from using the preformed holes.
- Two notches located on each of four sides for struts offering flexibility depending on preferential position of struts.
- Timber batons can be bolted to the post via three 20mm holes which allows wire to be stapled directly to the post.

- Has a pointed end to aid installation.
- Octagonal in shape which prevents the post from turning during installation and when the wire is being tensioned.
- Available either 2135mm (7’), 2590mm (8’ 6”) or 3050mm (10’) long.
- The octagonal shape makes the post easier to transport.
